First elected in 2018 to a two-year term for the newly formed District 1, Teresa is the first Council Member to represent North Fremont in 12 years.
She is a believer that two heads are better than one. That collaboration is more effective than confrontation. And there is nothing we can't do or solve if we work TOGETHER.
Teresa is a mother of two wonderful children, and a proud wife of a Marine vet. As a long time resident of Fremont, and as a small business owner with a business in the District, Teresa has the unique perspective to bring to City Hall.
Teresa loves Fremont -- and is driven to continue to make Fremont a vibrant place for families and residents in this generation and the next. On the Council, she has advocated for safe communities, efficient transportation upgrades, and smart, sustained growth to support our growing population. Recognizing diversity as our city's strength, Teresa will continue to champion community driven solutions to hate, crime and indifference.
As a proud mother of two boys, both of whom are on the autism spectrum and enrolled in special day programs, Teresa is passionate about special needs and disability access for children. During her spare time, she enjoys teaching and learning from others. Over the past 20 years, she has regularly taught English to seniors. Councilmember Keng also enjoys volunteering for her local PTA and participating in the Fremont Rotary Club.
Council Member Keng has her Bachelor of Arts in Business and Economics from UCLA, and her Masters Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine. She currently resides in North Fremont with her husband Robert, and her two children.
